Hermana Harris - Spain, Barcelona Mission

  It was a relatively normal week!  I say relatively because I am yet to have a normal week here - the strangest things always happen.  I write in my journal in Spanish every night to practice, which is all fun and games until Monday rolls around and I'm too lazy to read my journal to remember what actually happened because it's in spanish so my emails end up being a massive correlation of random thoughts hahaha. And that is one big fat run on sentence, pls try to keep up.   At zone conference, Hermana Priesler informed me that we've now been missionaries for 100 days. So I'm going to share a few things I've learned thus far: 1. The art of inviting yourself over.  2. How to respond to someone when you actually have no idea what they just said. 3. How to look like a horse girl 24/7 (I was actually already familiar with this one) 4. How to fall asleep on the train and wake up 1 minute before our stop. I still don't know how I do this, but it's magical.  ...

  Hiiiii I hope everyone is doing well!  I pray for you and love you all so much! I am terrible at getting emails out... pday flies by!! So here's two weeks in one. Again. sorry mum.  Here are some fun things from the past couple of weeks: - I made a goal to talk to 25 people every day (besides just hi) and it has been so hilarious and fun. We now know everyone that works in the stores surrounding our apartment, which makes the mornings so happy! My only complaint is that pretty much all of them work in bakeries or markets and we still have not received any free food.  - Last p day we had a ward activity and I  got to play soccer 🙏😭 kids here ball out so hard. - hit my 3 month mark! Feels more like 3 years but also 3 minutes but also I have no idea. mission time is so interesting. - We had exchanges this week in Barcelona, and I spent the day with Hermana Hawkes who is just a fountain of wisdom. Love and miss you all un MONTÓN 💓💗💕 Here's another email with two weeks in one :) two weeks ago, I was out with covid, so not a ton to share - turns out, high fevers and apartments with no AC are not a fun combo!  Hermana Quintana didn't have covid, so we couldn't be in the same room and I felt so bad. she never got sick though, thank goodness! So, looooong week. But I got a lot of good study time, explored every square inch of the apartment (I'd heard that missionary apartments always have weird stuff, and I can now confirm that this is true), etc etc.  And as for that big green spanish book? That bad boy is history at this point.  I also taught Hermana Quintana the Thomas the tank eangine song from the other room and now she sings it all the time. Like ALL the time.  One evening, I was in the middle of an intense pity party when we got a call from two members in our ward telling us they had dropped off a package. They work at a castle ...

  so...miss you all TONS AND TONS!!  I'm going to start with an apology for all of the typos that are undoubtedly in this email. I'm not big on proof reading, so it's prolly a little sketchy... And I didn't quite get to writing an email last week, so here's some highlights from both: Hermana Quintana and I stayed in Barcelona last Tuesday night so that we didn't have to take the train early Wednesday morning, and IM SO GLAD WE DID!!! The Hermanas we were staying with that night were singing in a concert at La Sagrada Familia with a few various musical groups, so we got to listen! As I was watching one of the groups perform—a youth orchestra—I was blown away both by how good they were and also how blonde they were. Then I saw a mom in an albion fit romper in the crowd and I just knew they had to be from Utah. They were ahhhh!!!   Hola queridos amigos!!!!!  I love and miss you all! <3 I've been a Spain resident for what feels like a year (a good year at that, but a year  nonetheless), but in reality it's been a week and a half WHATTTT Here are some things I've learned about Spain (or maybe just Girona) in this first week - just in case you wanted some random facts: - not too many early risers here - everyone goes to bed late and wakes up even later. It's even difficult to get people to church because it's apparently wayyyy to early (10am...) - cross the street first, look after. People just hail-Mary it and walk across the craziest streets without even looking. There aren't really any pedestrian lights, so you just cross the street and pray that the cars will stop! - If someone is fom the US, they're either from New York or LA. There is no in-between.  - no one uses conditioner - can't find it anywhere... it's a real big problem in my life right now  - people from the Sou...

  Another week of MTC!! What a place!!! Highlights: - we taught another lesson in Spanish! It went so well and we're seeing a ton of improvements. - Lots of class - I have the best teachers! I'm so grateful for them and all that they're doing. - We did 24 straight hours of Spanish on Thursday! It was hilarious and frustrating and great practice. - We were called as the STLs on Saturday. It's kind of interesting in the MTC when our branch changes every week, but it's  awesome to get to work more with our branch president. - lots of volleyball, study time, and devotionals - Tuesday devotional was (once again) incredible! We sang in the MTC choir - We got to go to the temple again today. I went in with a few questions and came out feeling calm. It is one of my favorite places. The MTC president and his wife were in our session. I am grateful to have them as leaders - they inspire me so much. - My companions are the greatest! I don't know how I'm going to say go...
